About

To help you do your job more effectively, both CTPCA and NPMA lobby on behalf of the industry to ensure your concerns as a pest management professional are heard.

NPMA is the only entity that represents the pest management industry before the U.S. Congress and federal agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Labor, HUD, Department of Transportation, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Our government affairs staff tracks legislation, regulatory changes and policy related media -- and communicates this information with CTPCA's leadership in order to work together to take action.

With CTPCA, NPMA monitors state legislation, and provides updates on pertinent legislation to members. NPMA also helps members develop legislative strategy, talking points and position papers. NPMA will engage in direct state lobbying if asked by CTPCA.

The State Policy Affairs Representative (SPAR) is the key liaison at the state level, who is responsible for coordinating issues between the CTPCA and NPMA. Anthony Giovanni is CTPCA's SPAR, and Emilio Polce is CTPCA's Vice-SPAR.  We strongly encourage our members and nonmembers alike to get involved in advocacy.  Please email us if you have a question about state regulations, or would like to make a difference in the industry by working through CTPCA in public policy.

NPMA also provides a leadership role with the organizations that represent (or are comprised of) state regulatory officials, including the American Association of Pesticide Control Officials (AAPCO), the Association of Structural Pest Control Regulatory Officials (ASPCRO) and the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.
